Logic Problem.. A Mind Bender?
The banana-eating camel problem
Ali has a camel, which can carry up to 100 bananas, but eats one banana after every mile it walks. If Ali starts in the city of Oasis with a pile of 300 bananas, what is the furthest amount of miles he can end up away from the city? What is the optimal strategy?
He can travel 100 miles away from the city. If the camel can only carry 100 bananas, no larger amount in the city of Oasis will matter because it is too many for the camel to carry. Going back to the city to get more bananas is redundant because the camel still eats 1 banana for every mile traveled.
